Logos International Center
LOGOS' Response to the Ongoing War in Ukraine...
Welcome to LOGOS International Center
LOGOS International Center was established as a non-profit charitable organization in 2003. Led by a board of directors, it functions as a whole-person-care community center started by the founder, Father Nicolay Ilnytsky, and co-founder, Taras Myroniuk.
The vision of LOGOS is to care for the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of the whole person, in order to develop healthier individuals, families, and society. This vision addresses serious needs in Ukraine, especially in the Kotsubynska community of western Kyiv (Kiev). But the influence of Logos also extends outward to other regions of Ukraine and even neighboring countries.
LOGOS focuses primarily on groups of people most at risk in society: the homeless, orphans, poor, and elderly. Everything done at Logos Center relates to health in some form or another. Nutrition and disease prevention. Health care in the hospital and at home. Physical fitness and sports. Educational, skill and character development. Recovery from addictions. Encouragement and sense of belonging. Because this philosophy of care is holistic, a strong Christian component is foundational to all its activities.
LOGOS serves the community in multiple ways. It…
-
Prepares “faith community nurses and volunteers” to care for the ill and elderly.
-
Provides a safe place for single moms to live in community while learning life skills with a holistic approach.
-
Feeds the homeless and poor with respect, valuing them as individuals.
-
Helps free people struggling with alcohol addiction to start a new life.
-
Provides a safe place for children and youth to enjoy sports and develop character.
-
Strengthens skills by teaching the English language to children and adults.
